Cruelty Experience Outcome #1

As I sat and waited outside of the courtroom, I fidgeted. Thoughts raced through my mind. Was he able to come up with bond money? Did he get approval to use his condemned house as security? Will today be the day? I was "on the edge of my seat" as we waited for the hearing to begin. The defense stalled as long as they could.

The bond couldn't be posted, but they didn't want to give up. The district court case went to circuit court at the hands of the defense, trying to trump the ruling. Luckily, the judge told the defense that the right avenue was not taken and this ruling was out of his jurisdiction. He was sent back, and with only ten minutes before the order was to go into effect, the hoops they had to jump through were becoming more difficult. The civil forfeiture order went into effect January 3rd at 4:00 PM.

The unknown is finally known. The nerves can finally settle. The animals are finally free from the clammy, cruel claws of this fool. These animals can be placed in the homes they deserve, only out in the natural elements as long as they safely wish, then back inside to snuggle with their family they have waited so long for.

At the conclusion of this article, I feel relieved as I sit with my recently freed foster baby and her best canine friends. This horrific case is just another story placed on my list of why my passion continues to grow. It's why I do what I do.
